Shellco Construction delivered an extensive decorative concrete package for Alton, featuring multiple style benches, signage systems, and a cantilevering bus shelter crafted from Mesa Beige exposed aggregate concrete with specialized polishing and sandblasting techniques. The project showcased advanced concrete finishing methods, including hand-seeded tabby coquina shell aggregate that was later polished and sandblasted to achieve the desired exposed aggregate effect throughout the development.
The comprehensive scope included structures ranging from rectangular and uniform designs to abstract and oblong configurations with chamfered edges and recessed joints creating sophisticated paneled appearances. Each element incorporated premium materials, including applied corten steel accents, glass inlays, and hidden lighting systems to illuminate the concrete products for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The combination of precise geometric paver patterns, custom bench designs with integrated planters, and the striking illuminated bus shelter demonstrates Shellco's capability to execute complex decorative concrete projects that serve as both functional infrastructure and architectural focal points within modern developments.
